I AM AN EXPLORER
I am a curious explorer who drives purposeful innovation by connecting people to people and people to ideas. Innovation doesn’t happen when we withdraw from the world, but rather when we engage with it. If you want to connect more dots, you have to collect more dots. And the world is a laboratory of ideas waiting to be explored.
I was Executive Director of Centric from 2016-2019 where I led the organization's efforts to connect, educate and celebrate Indiana's problem solvers. Centric is a 501c3 nonprofit that exists to increase the recognition of our state as a global center of innovation. They achieve this by equipping individuals and organizations with the critical thinking skills needed to drive innovation forward. As Executive Director, I had a front row seat to the common challenges and popular solutions shared by leaders and organizations across many different industries and sectors.
Prior to joining Centric, I spent more than a decade as the US Marketing Director for Keter Plastic, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resin-based household and garden consumer products. As the eyes and ears on the US market, it was my responsibility to track a wide variety of product categories and consumer segments. I provided sales and product direction, in-depth competitive landscapes, competitor and market feasibility analysis, consumer insights and research, online marketing, tradeshow management and brand building. At Keter, I worked directly with some of the largest retailers in the world including Walmart, Home Depot, Costco Wholesale, Amazon.com and many others.
A graduate of Butler University, I am extremely active in Indiana’s innovation and entrepreneurship communities and am a member of the Hive Global Leaders network.
I've been asked quite a few times over the years about the name JAWBRAIN. What is it? What does it mean? There is no deep, philosophical meaning to share. JAW is simply my initials and when originally searching for URL's and social media handles, JAWBRAIN was short, catchy and available.
